Outdoor carpentry, done properly

What we do

A deck is just carpentry you can inspect from below, there's nowhere to hide sloppy work. Our decks start with footings below frost line, proper ledger flashing, and joist spacing that matches the decking, because the GTA's freeze-thaw will find every shortcut by the second spring.

We build in pressure-treated, cedar and composite, rebuild sagging porches on older Newmarket and Bradford homes, and run fence lines that stay straight after the ground heaves.

Recent builds include a two-level composite deck backing onto the East Gwillimbury greenbelt, a wraparound porch restoration on a century home in downtown Newmarket, and 200 feet of cedar privacy fence in Stouffville.

Footings below frost line

Concrete piers to code depth so your deck doesn't ride up and down with the seasons.

Materials for your budget

Pressure-treated for value, cedar for warmth, composite for zero-maintenance, we'll give you honest pros and cons of each.

Porch rebuilds

Heaved, rotted or settling porches on older homes rebuilt structurally, columns, beams, steps and railings.

Fences that stay straight

Posts set properly below frost, gates that still swing next year.

Outdoor carpentry problems we fix every week

If any of these sound familiar, you're exactly who we built this page for.

  • Decks built without permits or proper footings that bounce and lean
  • Rotted ledger boards (the #1 cause of deck collapses) installed without flashing
  • Porch columns sinking on older homes
  • Fence posts heaved out of line after a hard winter
  • Railings that no longer meet code height or spacing
No surprises

Frequently asked questions

How much does a deck cost in the GTA?

Pressure-treated decks typically run $45–$65 per square foot built; composite runs $75–$110. Railings, stairs and height add to it. We itemize the quote so you can flex materials against budget.

Do I need a permit for my deck?

In most GTA municipalities, any deck more than 24 inches off grade needs a permit. We prepare the drawings and handle the application, Newmarket, Aurora and East Gwillimbury each have their own quirks and we know them.

Pressure-treated, cedar or composite?

Pressure-treated is the value pick and takes stain well after a season. Cedar looks and smells beautiful but wants regular care. Composite costs more upfront and then asks nothing of you for 25 years. We build all three and will tell you straight which fits your use.

Can you fix my existing deck instead of rebuilding?

If the frame and footings are sound, yes, new decking and railings on a good frame is a great-value project. If the structure is compromised we'll show you exactly why before recommending a rebuild.

When's the best time to build?

We build April through December. Booking in winter or early spring gets the best pick of dates, summer slots go fast.

Are your decks code-compliant?

Always, footing depth, ledger attachment, railing height, baluster spacing, stair rise/run. It's your family standing on it.
